On Saturday, November 2 the Archmere volleyball team traveled to take on Newark Charter in the second round of the DIAA State Tournament. Coming off of a first round win against Conrad, the Auks, seeded eleventh, "stormed back" during the exciting back and forth match, defeating the sixth seed Patriots in 5 sets. Set scores were 22-25, 25-15, 25-20, 21-25, and 15-12.
Mike Lang of the Dialog covered the match, writing, "Archmere’s volleyball team had a 2-1 lead at Newark Charter and a 19-18 lead in the fourth set when the momentum started to turn. The Patriots finished strong to force a fifth and looked to be well on their way to moving on in the DIAA state tournament before the Auks suddenly corrected themselves, roaring back for a thrilling victory in the deciding set and advancing to the quarterfinals this Wednesday."

Archmere will play #3 Tower Hill on Wednesday, November 6th at 8:00pm at Brandywine High School. Tickets must be purchased in advance at http://gofan.co/app/school/DIAA
